A new retrocast has been added to the CineVegas website this week – the honoree conversation with Sir Ben Kingsley, who was honored with the Vanguard Actor Award at the 2007 Festival.
A four time Oscar nominee, Kingsley doesn’t just act – he embodies his characters and disappears behind a remarkable arsenal of moods and behaviors. He captured the complexity of selflessness and charity in GANDHI, a role for which he won the Oscar for Best Actor. He expressed the dignity of a servant struggling to maintain normalcy despite a deep sense of his own mortality in SCHINDLER’S LIST. Other memorable roles include SEXY BEAST, THE HOUSE OF SAND AND FOG and most recently, ELEGY and THE WACKNESS.
