LAS VEGAS – Dennis Hopper will serve as Chairman of the Creative Advisory Board for the 2004 CineVegas Film Festival. The announcement was made today by Robin Greenspun, President of CineVegas.
“We are so pleased to have Dennis serve as chairman for our newly formed Creative Advisory Board. He is passionately committed to independent cinema and continues to leverage his position in the entertainment community to help fellow actors and filmmakers, ” said Robin Greenspun.
Hopper was honored last year with CineVegas’ prestigious Marquee Award for his lifetime achievements in the film industry.
Hopper states, “I’ve attended festivals all over the world, but nothing can compare to CineVegas. I was so inspired by the festival’s commitment to filmmakers and bringing undiscovered talent to the entertainment capital of the world that I am thrilled to be involved. We put together a terrific board of individuals who are highly respected in the film community and we look forward to bringing the festival to the next level of recognition.”
The Creative Advisory Board will be comprised of the following: Jeremy Barber, UTA; Tom Bernard, Co-Pres. Sony Pictures Classics; Ruth Bloom, Arts Educator; Arianna Bocco, Sr. VP Miramax; David Dinerstein, Pres. Paramount Classics; Kevin Iwashina, CAA; Ori Marmur, Original Films; Elvis Mitchell, New York Times; Bob Myerson, Co-Pres. Dada Films; Bingham Ray, Independent Producer; Shaun Redick, ICM and John Sloss, Pres. Cinetic.
Trevor Groth, Director of Programming along with Mike Plante, Programmer, has made the official call for entries. The deadline is April 9 and details for submission are available on www.cinevegas.com by emailing
