A few years ago, a director whose film was in the festival was saying farewell after a long ride on that rollercoaster called the "CineVegas Experience." He looked at me with an exhausted smile, shook his head and said “CineVegas is the world's most dangerous film festival.” I loved that notion. Las Vegas always had an underlying element of danger. Yet it has flourished, from its outlaw beginnings through its mafia-driven heyday to its current death-defying acts of entertainment and architecture. |
