2007: Greetings From CineVegas
Great art is often fueled by great strife...
The global and political climate of today is inspiring filmmakers to create by any means necessary. Whether it's a massive studio film or a lo-fi video, the films that make up the 2007 CineVegas Film Festival represent a passion to tell stories. They evoke the power of cinema: rousing audiences or distracting them from their woes…at least for a while. This year's lineup is reminiscent of another era of film. An era when we found ourselves in a war that most didn't believe in…the 70's. It was a golden age of cinema responsible for some of the greatest films of all time. An era fueled by outrage, spawning films with creative and memorable subject matter that reflected the questioning spirit of the times.
