Sean Conway was born and raised on a council estate in Batley, a small mill town in West Yorkshire. He attended Batley Parish C of E Primary School, Batley Grammar School and Greenhead College Huddersfield, before going on to film school at Northumbria University,where he graduated with a 1st Class BA Honours Degree. His short films ROCCO PARIS (2005), RABBIT STORIES (2006, Special Mention of the Jury at Clermont-Ferrand), ALEX AND HER ARSE TRUCK (2007, a Cinema Extreme film) and KINGS OF LONDON (2008) have played hundreds of film festivals worldwide and on British TV.
KINGS OF LONDON is about the fortunes of two teenage black brothers, both named Aristotle, and the Ghetto Riders, a group of young black men from London’s rough estates who have transformed themselves into urban cowboys. read all »

Ben Steinbauer is making his feature directing debut with WINNEBAGO MAN. He is the recipient of the 2007 Princess Grace Foundation Award for filmmaking. Steinbauer’s short films have played at South by Southwest and aired on PBS. He teaches film at the University of Texas, Austin.

To date, Emily Carmichael’s films, plays and cartoons have included one jealous ghost, six witches, and two imaginary mud people. She’s been awarded $70,075 in writing prizes and scholarships, $60,000 of which she declined in order to go to Tisch film school. She currently lives with her parents and tries hard to not pay for drinks. CineVegas 2009 is proud to present TWO of her short films.

Kerry Prior is a writer and filmmaker living in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kerry has worked on numerous movies creating visual effects. He is one of the original members of Filmmakers Alliance, a Los Angeles filmmaker’s collective founded by producer Jacques Thelemaque. Talmage Cooley was born in Charlottesville, Virginia. His award-winning shorts films POL POT’S BIRTHDAY and DIMMER have premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and have been shortlisted for the Academy Awards, as well as being included in the permanent film collections at the New York Museum of Modern Art and the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles. Talmage was named by RES Magazine as one of “Ten Most Innovative Talents”, and by Screen International Magazine as one of “10 Emerging Talents to Watch.” Talmage is currently working on several film projects and resides in Los Angeles.
PATRIOTVILLE, his first feature, is about an idealistic museum manager and a beautiful troublemaker who go to war with a corrupt mayor to stop a casino from being built on their town’s “historic” battlefield. read all »

MERCY director Patrick Hoelck’s early break came when friend Vincent Gallo requested Patrick to shoot a magazine cover, followed by a published photography art book titled “Tar”, a producing role on the film COFFEE AND CIGARETTES by Paul Thomas Anderson, and countless music videos. Hoelck is currently working on a coffee table book comprised of short stories and images.
